Alex Domingues works in the audiovisual field, from cinema to video art, but most often somewhere in between. Indefinition, ambiguity, and strangeness are constant concepts in their practice — not by chance, they named their production company “O Estranho” (The Strange).

Their works aim to raise more questions than answers, seeking to evoke an atmosphere reminiscent of a dreamlike experience. Their visual compositions often feature unconventionally framed faces and bodies, influenced by concepts such as the Informe. Recently, they have been increasingly experimenting with temporality and the discomfort triggered by the perception of time's flow in video works, aiming for sensory reactions such as tachycardia and disorientation.
